title-about
AIMS Ltd has been established for 10 years and its primary discipline is the design, development and manufacture of specialist powder metallurgy products. The majority of the products are consolidated by hot Isostatic pressing (HIPing) and or a combination of cold Isostatic pressing (CIPing) and HIPing.

The company has a high level of expertise in the field of functionally structured and zoned materials tailored for specific applications. Many of these applications are centred on surface engineering applications involving high strength and high fatigue performance. Other areas of operation cover abrasion/adhesive wear, erosion and corrosion, as discrete mechanisms or a combined event.

The range of materials covered encompasses nickel based super alloys, steels and aluminium products.

AIMS Ltd is involved in the development and improvement of new, novel and existing materials via the powder metallurgy route other metallurgical techniques.

Specific customer application driven research and development projects are undertaken to tailor materials and component structures to discrete applications. These can be undertaken on a one to one basis or as a collaborative scheme in strictest confidence. AIMS Ltd has good professional links and works closely with Cranfield University specifically, and other academic establishments, on a daily basis in conjunction with research and development projects.

AIMS Ltd has its own specialised facilities with a wide range of equipment to meet customer requirements and a large laboratory area for pilot scale production rigs.

Although AIMS Ltd is primarily involved in the research and development of powder metallurgy materials and components, we also offer a range of expertise in a number of other areas, including alternative materials manufacturing, processing and machining techniques.
