AIMS Ltd specialise in high quality aluminium alloys with fine grain structures
and high fatigue strengths. The primary method of manufacture is by the
consolidation of specialist powders manufactured to our own standards, which
are within extremely tight tolerances. A production route has been developed
to present consistently high quality material.
The process provides a uniform isotropic structure. These materials fundamentally present homogeneous mechanical properties without directionality in the "as produced" condition. Clearly if post-production hot or cold manipulation is performed a structural flow will be introduced and the isotropic nature of the material will be disrupted respectively.
Currently, a group of high quality alloys are becoming available targeting a wide range of application including the high performance automotive industry and aerospace.
These materials are produced in short bar stock and billet form. Pre-worked and heat treated components are also available.
In addition to our family of standard alloys we offer specific bespoke aluminium alloys including particulate metal matrix composites and fibre- reinforced products. These materials are also available in bar or billet form but are also available in net-shape, near-net-shape and pre-worked form.
