Over View
AIMS Ltd is specifically active in the area materials development.
Its facilities and academic links are tailored for the "one-on-one"
development of materials and material processing. As with all our
work strict confidentiality is maintained at all times. The company
is active in the area of collaborative research and works closely
with Cranfield University specifically but also with other research
establishments.
Net and Near-Net-Shape
The company is actively involved with "net-shape" and "near-net-shape"
development of components based around our existing range of materials
and/or will undertake specific materials development/research to tailor
the material to the specific application. This work is customer driven
and completed on a contract basis with agreed milestones and deliverables.
Internal Product Development
AIMS Ltd is continuously pushing the science forward and to that end
we undertake our own research and development aimed at providing materials
to address specific, new/emerging and existing, market needs. This
work provides a standard range of materials available to end users.
Longer Term Research and Developments Projects
The Company is also involved in long term research and development
projects working closely with the end user on a "one-on-one"
basis to accomplish a defined end result. Research is normally conducted
on an open book basis where both AIMS Ltd and their customer review
the final operational requirements for the component. In this way
a better understanding and a more efficient work method is maintained.
Again, this work is customer driven and completed on a contract basis
with agreed milestones and deliverables and may involve material and
process development.
