AIMS has developed a range of titanium alloys and composites which can be manufactured
to near-net-shape form, as well as billet or block components.
These materials are based around the workhorse of the titanium industry, Ti-6Al-4V, which has been manufactured via the powder metallurgy route. Integral to the monolithic components, it is also possible to reinforce the alloy with particulate or needle reinforcements of varying volume fractions, to give a range of mechanical properties, to suit customer requirements.
Titanium components are targeted at the aerospace, medical and defense industries, however, with the emergence of titanium into other industries, such as high-end automotive, AIMS is seeking to expand its activities into these areas to fulfill industry demands.
